Flexibility in Gigabit Ethernet Connections

Enhance the flexibility and performance of the 3Com® SuperStack® 3 Switch 4900 or 3Com Switch 40×0 families with Gigabit Ethernet GBICs and this GBIC module.

The GBIC module provides four switched ports using the standard GBIC interface connector. It can be fitted with any of three 3Com GBICs, enabling Switch 4900s or Switch 40x0s to support a variety of gigabit media in the same platform.

This module can also be used when implementing 3Com XRN™ technology with the GBIC Fabric Interconnect

Use with these GBICs: 1000BASE-SX (3CGBIC91), 1000BASE-LX (3CGBIC92), or 1000BASE-LH70 (3CGBIC97)

Helps enable a single switch of the 3Com Switch 40×0 or SuperStack 3 Switch 4900 families to support the following range of Gigabit Ethernet media: 1000BASE-SX,

1000BASE-LX, and 1000BASE long-haul

Delivers support for long-distance fiber connectivity using the 1000BASE-LH70 GBIC—up to 70 km (43.4 miles)
